Here comes a new episode from iApplicate.tv - Magnetic Personalities, the iPhone app developed by People Operating Technology, app allows users to style hair on faces with digital iron filings!
Brian Eno, has released a second iPhone application Trope, developed with the help of designer and musician Peter Chilvers. The new app lets users create their own ambient music by drawing patterns with their fingers. The shape of each pattern creates a different tone.
Unlike the first Eno app, Bloom, Trope is described as producing darker music that is "more introspective, more atmospheric." Particular moods can be selected from an accompanying palette.
The software requires a device with iPhone 2.2 firmware or better. For the sake of fidelity it is recommended that people use either headphones or external speakers, instead of earbuds or built-in speakers.
"Trope is a different emotional experience from Bloom - more introspective, more atmospheric. It shows that generative music, as one of the newest forms of sonema, can draw on a broad palette of moods." - Brian Eno.
Trope is available now on the App Store for £2.39 ($3.99), and Eno stresses that it's different from its predecessor.

MobileNavigator application by Navigon company includes changes and newly added features. So if you are already user of this application you should better know that this is the second free update for the navigation app for North American users since the application launched. The update adds a new text-to-speech function to allow the voice prompts to read street names and turn-by-turn directions. The app will now say “turn left On Main Street” instead saying “turn left.”
The application includes the latest map material from the market leader NAVTEQ and can be used without an Internet connection, which is of enormous benefit abroad, for example, as no extra charges are incurred. The update also adds a location sharing function to make meet ups with friends and family easy to coordinate. So with MobileNavigator you can turn your iPhone into an equally handy and convenient route guidance system. Users can now also get one click access from within the navigation app to their music lists so they can navigate and listen to music at once.

Apple has introduced a new iPhone application “Outbreaks Near Me”, created by a Harvard University professor and a Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduate student. The application is designed to gather information from its users about infectious-disease outbreaks.
This new iPhone application will enable individuals in cities and countries around the world to interact with the HealthMap team and participate in the public health surveillance process. Users may take photos - of situations and scenarios of, and/or leading to, disease - with their iPhone and submit them to the HealthMap system for review and eventual posting as an alert on the worldwide map.
The tool was developed as part of the Health Map.org project, which collects and displays information about infectious diseases on an interactive map on its home page. Information on the map is automatically drawn from online sources of infectious-disease data, and is updated each hour.
"Outbreaks Near Me" is available for download for no cost in the iTunes App Store.

Compete, a TNS Media company, today released the results from its quarterly Smartphone Intelligence survey, which provides behavioral and survey-based insights into how consumers are using their iPhones and other "smart" devices.
iPhone owners are much more likely to download apps and get involved with social networking than their BlackBerry-owning counterparts, Compete revealed today in a new study.
Key findings include:
- 73 percent of Blackberry owners have downloaded 5 or fewer applications; in contrast, 72 percent of iPhone owners have downloaded 10 or more applications.
- Facebook is hot among iPhone owners: 71 percent of iPhone users report accessing Facebook from their mobile device, 37 percent listed Facebook as one of their top three most utilized apps and 18 percent claim it's their favorite app.
- 30 percent of all smartphone owners are either comfortable or very comfortable receiving targeted marketing on their device.
The researchers add that iPhone owners are more willing to buy their apps than BlackBerry owners.
iPhone users are also significantly more likely to have a Twitter account (26% versus 15%) and are more than twice as likely to actually use Twitter on their phones, at 26% compared to 10%. Industry-wide, only 45% have Facebook accounts and 19% have Twitter accounts, and 85% of smartphone Twitter users actually choose to use the website instead.Regardless of platform, 83% of users prefer apps that cost below $5.
In addition to networking activities, smartphone owners are open to receiving targeted marketing via their device. What types of offers make the best candidates for marketers trying to reach networked consumers? Impulse and leisure purchases tend to be easier to digest than big, highly considered ones. Therefore, nearly half of smartphone owners are receptive to location-based offers at restaurants and offers to save and pursue at their leisure, and 45% would use mobile grocery coupons.
Let's Get Started
AT&T has finally announced the release day of MMS for iPhone 3G and 3GS users and that launch day is: September 25.
AT&T points to the need for the company to build out its network infrastructure to handle the demands of heavy MMS messaging volumes as the primary reason for the delay in launching the service compared to carriers in other countries that have offered MMS since the launch of iPhone OS 3.0 in June.
AT&T’s only explanation for the long delay in unveiling the service was, “to give our customers a positive experience from day one and we needed to make sure our network is ready to handle what we expect will be a record volume of MMS traffic.”
As was announced earlier, MMS messaging will be included at no additional cost to users with an iPhone text messaging plan. MMS will be enabled through a software update.
Digital music service Spotify launched mobile versions of its popular music streaming application. Spotify for iPhone and iPod touch has been approved by Apple and is available in the App Store. The new application is also available, for the owners of Google Android-powered smartphones, at the Android Market.
The Apple iPhone, iPod touch and Android apps also allows playlists to be downloaded and played in offline mode when users have no connection, are on a plane or subway, or abroad and subject to roaming data fees. The size of a playlist is only limited by available storage space and they can be used for maximum of 30 days before you need to go back online — so no signing up for Spotify for a month, creating a 32Gb playlist and cancelling your subscription.
Spotify Mobile is free for both platforms, but you’ll need to sign up for a Spotify Premium account before you can use it and that’ll cost you £10 a month.
The Spotify App is available to Spotify Premium subscribers in the U.K., Sweden, Spain, France, Norway and Finland, the company said. Features include access to Spotify’s catalogue of songs, streaming and browsing capability and synchronized playlists.
