All About Siri In iOS 6

As you already know Apple has previewed iOS 6 at WWDC day 1, which adds over 200 new features to the world’s most advanced mobile operating system and is said to give you more features to make the things you do every day even better. Along with the numerous updated features, including the amazing Maps by Apple, Siri has also been updated and now understands more languages, works in more countries, and is available on the new iPad too! The thing to note is that it requires internet access. Siri may not be available in all languages or all areas, and features may vary by area. Cellular data charges may apply too.

Siri now understands more languages and is optimized for 15 countries around the world, including:
English
English and Canadian French
Italian, Swiss French, and Swiss German
Mandarin and Cantonese
German
Spanish
French
Mandarin and Cantonese
Italian
Japanese

With these formalities behind, let’s now discuss what has changed from Siri in iOS5 to Siri in iOS 6 in details. With Euro 2012 currently running, it’s great to know that Siri can provide accurate data about the latest scores and stats for your favorite teams and players thanks to iOS6. Along with soccer, Siri knows baseball, basketball, football and hockey as well. Despite just finding the scores and game schedules, Siri is also able to show you player stats and compare them against other players’ stats. With the ability to track team records, Siri will let you know how well your team is doing (or not doing) at every given moment.

Despite the knowledge of sports, Sri has enhanced its restaurant- finding skills as well, enabling you to have a personal restaurant concierge. Siri can filter restaurants by cuisine, price, location, outdoor seating, or a combination of choices and is able to display photos, Yelp stars, price range, and reviews as well. Reservations can also be made through the OpenTable app as you find a place you like.

The latest flicks by location or showtimes can also be found by Siri. Ask her when a movie premiered, who directed it, and what awards it won and Siri will answer you. Also, if you tell her the movies your favorite actors star in, you’re never going to miss any of their past or future blockbusters.

Social networking is now much more fun and easy, as you are able to update your Facebook status, post a comment on your Wall, or send a tweet using just the sound of your voice, without having to type a single word via updated Siri! Siri can open other apps for you too, just by telling the app name!

One of the most important changes we may face is that Siri is planned to be integrated into car select voice control systems. This means that you’ll be able to ask Siri questions without taking your eyes off the road, just through your voice command button on your steering wheel! To even more minimize the distraction level, the device screen won’t light up while you’re driving. the Eyes Free feature will enable you to call people, select and play music, hear and compose text messages, use Maps and get directions, read your notifications, find calendar information, add reminders, and more through Siri, even when you’re behind the wheel!
