With the much-awaited Google Maps now available in the Apple App Store, many of iPhone users are no longer afraid to get lost. The app has gained significant admiration, especially in comparison with iOS maps introduced with the 6th major OS update by Apple. We’ve provided five smart tips for making your Google Maps experience even more convenient on your iPhone.
Did you know that a feature called Street View makes it available to see the panoramic images by simply pressing and holding any location on the map, tapping the info sheet and then the image? You can explore as if you’re there by tapping the look-around icon (on the bottom left) and moving or tilting your phone.
Whether examining or getting directions, you can Swipe to See More by swiping the info sheet to the left or right to browse further results. Once you've found what you like, tap it or swipe it up to see more details such as a business’ hours or transit stops.
You are able to save your favorite places and get quick access on them later by tapping the star icon on a location or place info sheet. The places you save sync across all of your devices and will appear on the map and on your search results.
Placing a pin on the map is simply available via pressing and holding any desired location. For additional options such as saving the location or accessing Street View, if available, tap the resulting info sheet.
And finally, to help Google improve the map app for iPhone, you can simply shake the device to send the feedback. If you find something that needs to be updated, a bug or simply decide to share your suggestions, just give your device a shake.
