The winner of our Free App Poll this week is WordYatzy by Wordexia! The app managed to gain the majority of votes in a record-breaking time – just in 3 days!
WordYatzy is a fun word game for iOS, equally entertaining for the users of all ages, where you can challenge your friends or allow an opponent to be chosen randomly.
For those unaware, Yahtzee is a dice game, first marketed by game entrepreneur Edwin S. Lowe in 1956. Being a development of earlier dice games such as Yacht and Generala, Yahtzee is also similar to the English game of Poker Dice and the Cheerio dice game. WordYatzy shares the idea of Yahtzee, but you should create words instead of numbers. To better get the concept of the game, there’s a Rules button available for help.
Users are able to collect points by rolling the letter dice and arranging them to form words of varying lengths and various letter combinations. Each user has three throws per round and the player with most points when 11 rounds are played is the winner. You can check the scoreboard by clicking on scorecard before your roll to check what you need for the next roll.
WordYatzy is available for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad users running iOS 4.3 or later for free in the Apple App Store. Go and grab WordYatzy and have fun! Good luck!
