Solar Technology Unveiled Solar Charger For iPhone and iPod Touch

Tuesday, March 4, 2008

UK-based Solar Technology unveiled amazing and portable Solar Charger product, the Freeloader 8.0 for iPhone, iPod Touch and other devices, such as mp3 Players, digital cameras, PSP’s, Nintendo DS Lite etc.

FreeLoader 8.0 Portable Solar Charger is a compact smart looking device that absorbs solar energy and converts it to power for your iPhones or any gadget that you might be using.

According to the makers:

“Freeloader takes power from its solar panels or via a supplied charge cable that plugs into a computers’ USB. Once charged, Freeloaders internal battery can power an iPod for 18hours, a mobile phone for 44 hours, PSP for 2.5 hours a PDA for 22 hours and much much more.”

It doesn’t matter if you are in a car or traveling, this new device can charge your iPhones, camera’s or any hand held device easily.

The Freeloader comes in silver and pink, and features two small sold-away solar panels that can charge the internal battery within 5 hours. Solar Technology is selling the Freeloader 8.0 for £29.99; as of now, it is available only in the UK.

In addition to charging the iPod, the Freeloader comes with several adapters for Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, and LG phones. Nintendo DS Lite and PSP users will also be able to use the charger, and it includes several generic USB connections for other devices that can charge through USB.

Solar Technology also sells the enlarged Supercharger solar panels that reduce the Freeloader's charge time by 50-percent, which it sells for £20 (~$40).

Marware Sport Grip for iPhone

Monday, March 3, 2008

Marware’s $14.99 Sport Grip for iPhone is a silicone skin case for the iPhone that’s available in blue, pink, clear, and black. The Sport Grip provides simple protection for the iPhone while leaving all of its controls easily accessible.

The Sport Grip has a large opening at the front for accessing the iPhone’s touchscreen; you also use this opening to insert and remove the iPhone from the case. The front of the case also includes small holes for the iPhone’s earpiece and proximity sensor as well as an indentation over the Home button that makes it easy to locate by touch. The back of the case has a small opening for the iPhone’s camera lens, and holes in the edges of the case let you get at the iPhone’s headphone jack, Ring/Silent switch, microphone, speaker, and dock-connector port. Rather than leaving openings for the volume buttons and Sleep/Wake switch, Marware has chosen to instead provide small nubs of silicone over those buttons to let you operate them through the case. The company also includes a thin, adhesive screen protector along with the necessary tools for applying the film to the iPhone.

The ridged sides of the case make it easy to grip and the slightly tacky-feeling silicone means that the phone won’t slide off a table or other smooth surface, though that texture also means that it’s more troublesome getting the phone in and out of a pocket. The silicone on the back of the case is somewhat thicker, giving the Sport Grip a solid, comfortable feeling in your hand.

The silicone material gathers a decent amount of dust and lint, some of which can become trapped between the case and the phone, but this is a problem we’ve encountered with several cases.

Overall, the Marware Sport Grip is a respectable entry among silicone iPhone cases, and it’s a fair sight cheaper than many of the others we’ve tested.

LiveSpeakR™ - "A Boombox" in your pocket!

Friday, February 22, 2008

The LiveSpeakR™ - invented by 23-year-old Erik Groset, is an ultra portable speaker system for the iPhone unlike any other. It features a set of speakers that fold-up and store conveniently behind your iPhone for maximum portability. It is a boombox in your pocket!

Speakers are powered by 2 AAA batteries or an AC-adapter. They are shielded from radio frequency interference, which allows the iPhone to operate without going into airplane mode and gives it the ability to still receive calls.

But, the truly impressive functionality of the LiveSpeakR™ is what makes this product shine above the competition. The speakers expand, contract, and rotate to work with both portrait and landscape modes. Behind the LiveSpeakR™ unit is a stand to hold the speakers up at multiple viewing angles.

"I'm very proud of the LiveSpeakR I believe it could be a perfect accessory for everyone's iPhone. I invented it from the perspective of the end-user and everything they would want in a speaker-system."

He also noted, that if the right partner was found, the LiveSpeakR™ could be available as early as Summer 2008. It should also be noted that the LiveSpeakR™ is backwards compatible with older generation players as well as potential future media players.

LiveSpeakR™ is a trademark of D&G Solutions, LLC and the technology behind LiveSpeakR™ is patent pending in the United States.

iPhone in SnakeSkin

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

Anyone who wishs now can get an iPhone case studded with diamonds, but how many can say they have one that's made of shimmering silver python? Maybe everyone wouldn’t want one, mind you, but how many could say it?

French designer Chloe apparently uses a special treatment that gives the snakeskin a "unique metallic look," according to Sybarites, at the bargain price of around $370. The fashion house has even set up a Web site specifically for the iPhone, reportedly accessible by typing in www.chloe.com in its address bar.

They might do well to expand their line for Razr's latest "V8 Luxury Edition" as well. Because, as we all know, one can never have too much snakeskin on a phone.

Pogo Stylus for iPhone

Monday, December 10, 2007

Nobody argues that iPhone's screen is the best component of the wonder device. When you mention iPhone, its fantastic touch screen is what comes to the mind first. However, nothing in life comes cost free. Because fingers are used to operate iPhone, the screen rapidly becomes full of finger smudges and greases. I know people who get really mad on this. Some people even clean the device every five min or so.

Yes, nothing comes cost free. If you have an extra $25 to spend on solving this problem, then the Pogo Stylus from Ten One Design is your choice. The Pogo Stylus is somewhat sicker than ordinary ones and is made from ultra-light aluminum.

More details on this accessory can be found here: http://www.tenonedesign.com/stylus.php
