HermitWorks To Release Space Trader For iPhone

Monday, April 14, 2008

HermitWorks Entertainment, founded by former BioWare game designers Cameron and Marcia Tofer, is working not only for Quack 3 for the iPhone and iPod touch ports, but on Space Trader

port for iPhone as well.

As widely reported this week, the port uses the built-in motion sensors to control action in the game, and offers the capability for two player play using WiFi.

HermitWorks hopes to release Space Trader in June for the iTunes Store for users to purchase and download but in order for that to happen they would need minimal support in Apple’s official SDK which was late in coming.

Space Trader is a FPS style game but the company is also working on a RPG game called Quest. They promise that it won’t be standard 2D RPG, but instead a full 3D game, with some NPC’s being real players.

HermitWorks Entertainment Corporation is an independent game company founded in 2004 by industry veterans Cameron and Marcia Tofer. HermitWorks is an innovative company interested in developing games that casual and hard core gamers can play together. Their first game title 'Space Trader' was realeased in the fall of 2007.

New Webgames: Color Rush and Castle Feud For iPhone

Friday, April 4, 2008

Undercloud offers iPhone users two new free multiplayer webgames: Color Rush and Castle Feud.

The game Color Rush is partly strategy and partly puzzle. In this game you'll need to use all of your wisdom to beat the computer in the run for the total domination. Pick color gems to expand your field, whoever captures the bigger half wins. You can track your score on the global scoreboard, and more, play online multiplay with your fiends.

Castle Feud puts you in a straight-up battle of cannons and medieval castles. To get started, all you do is check the wind conditions, adjust the trajectory and power of your shot, and fire away.

The object of the game is to blast the opposing castle down to nothing before they’re able to do the same to you. You can play against the iPhone, or with a friend in two-player mode. Play against the iPhone, iPod Touch, or duel your friends.

iPhone Emulates PlayStation

Thursday, December 13, 2007

There are rumours of SonyEricsson making a PSP branded phone. I don't think that SE will be releasing PlayStation Phone anytime soon. But someone has already managed to play PlayStation 1 games on iPhone.

PlayStation 1 games on iPhone? Sounds weird but it's already a reality. But wait, iPhone doesn't have any buttons. Right, the iPhone doesn't, however for a tough programmer that ain't a problem at all. The guy has easily got around this problem by mapping the PS controls to the touchscreen. Wow!
